Three projects with a total of twenty units of staff housing for the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo including the first three-story wood frame buildings and largest platform framed wooden building ever constructed in the history of Japan. Design mandate included showcasing Canadian house forms, style, technology and construction materials for promotion in the Japanese housing market. Rigorous cutting edge requirements for durability, energy conservation, comfort levels and indoor air quality were incorporated.

Conformance with Japanese and Canadian codes and standards achieved. Integration of Canadian materials and products with Japanese services and construction techniques presented a unique challenge and experience. Azabu: 6-two story condominium style family residences and 2 executive diplomatic residences with underground parking. Aoyama: 8 three story split level family townhouses with attached garages. Motoyoyogi: 4 condominium style residences for singles and couples with underground parking.
