A facility for women and children, sponsored by Atira Women’s Resource Society, contained in two buildings. The program building is 3 storeys, concrete and wood construction, and provides a child care facility for 59 children, a full service community clinic and 12 units of transitional housing. The adjacent 4-storey wood frame building is designed for 24 residential 1, 2 and 3-bedroom suites including amenity area and outdoor terrace and play area for children. The project will be certified LEED Gold in compliance with BC Housing energy guidelines. The site features 26 surface parking stalls and rehabilitated park land with salmon stream under the authority of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
